1976 Firebird Flat Rectangle Tin Sign

This metal sign showcases Pontiac's Trans Am, famously known for its appearance in the Smokey & The Bandit films. While the 1977 film popularized the black-and-gold version, the special edition was actually created to commemorate Pontiac's 50th anniversary. Designated as the Y82 RPO-code, these Trans Am models featured a distinctive black paint job with gold accents, including pinstripes, grille, wheels, and the iconic gold Screaming Chicken decal on the hood. Initially produced in limited quantities from 1976 to 1978, the "Bandit" paint scheme continued with various other RPO codes until the final year of the second-generation Firebirds in 1981.
